Pause For The Cause
It has been a 360-degree year for us. What does that mean? After a cross-country road trip and a return from Europe, we wrapped up our year, for a brief time, back where we started in California.
After traveling our way through this pandemic many cities, many states, and exactly one country at a time, we have come full circle.
The Journey

Our juncture in Portugal was a time of reflection for me. A time of thinking about choices, meditating on the direction of my life, and organizing priorities. This isn’t as easy as it sounds when you are a full-time traveling family.
Most days are spent working out the logistics of the next venture, accommodations, internet speeds, neighborhoods, finding just the right furnishings, workspaces, and negotiations. Don’t forget working, homeschooling, laundry, dinner, etc. on top of that.
I feel like the luckiest person in the world and sometimes the loneliest. One learns so much but also becomes disconnected in ways from friends, relatives, and communities.
The benefits, however, far outweigh the disadvantages. We have gotten to be with our kids, explore different lifestyles, lands, biomes, languages, foods, people, cultures, and so much more.
Catching up in So Cal: Mother’s Day, science experiments, eye appointments, pump track, fixing up bikes, visiting wineries, cooking, and enjoying life. Thank you!
What’s Next?
The question I have gotten asked repeatedly since returning is, “so where to now?” It is a legitimate question. In all honesty, I have no idea. Right now, it is a matter of purchasing a car, without that we literally cannot go anywhere.
Vincent is turning 16 this summer and would like to get his license. Vallen would like to play soccer and loves riding his new BMX-style bike at the pump track. Maybe it is time to hunker down a bit and travel part-time.
Where Attention Goes, Energy Flows
At this very moment I am reading “The Secret,” and it is one of my top picks for books. Even in writing this, I am willing my truest desires into existence, some of which include financial independence, wealth building, college funding, real estate ownership, travel at will, and LASIK eye surgery. (Just to name a few).
I am setting my intentions for the journey ahead and have complete faith in their fulfillment. “So, where to now?” Wherever the universe takes us.
